Lavender's blue dilly dilly

I met up with Noo and Spot at Mayfield Lavender Farm today for a stroll, lunch, knitting and some good old fashioned conversation :oD
It was rather lovely despite the few spits of rain and the screaming children and the grumpy Lukey who thought Spot was in his personal space lol

The lavender was swarming with bees, and so many different types too

I am looking forward to another day out there next year!

St. Clement's Church, Leigh-on-Sea.

I spent many happy days in my childhood playing in and around Leigh and this church was one of our favourite places to be.
It's right next to the library gardens and is next to the hill that takes you down cobbles and wonky stairs to Old Leigh which is a wonderful place.

Lost in the woods!

I got completely lost in High Elms Country Park for about an hour and on my travels i spotted this lovely tree.

This time to Coombe Wood which is very luckily local!

I love these tiny cyclamen that were growing throughout the woods, so delicate and yet so hardy!

Tiny little fungus. To give you an idea of how small they are it is sitting amongst a bed of pine needles!

The late afternoon sun was just peeping through the trees and i couldn't resist taking a picture and i love the little orange sunbursts that appeared on the camera

I had to take the T4 to the mechanic this morning and on my walk home i remembered the lovely view from the top of the hill.

That would be London spreading out in front of me for those that don't recognise the shapes of the buildings ;o)

Spring Park to be exact, it's a gorgeous day and Lukey and i both need exercise! Had one encounter with strange dogs that didn't go too well, just some growling though, no violence. Wish he could be with me how he is in kennels :-(

I was in London today, walking back from the London Hospital to London Bridge and this is the junction of Fenchurch Street (to the left, the road i take) i don't know what the road to the right is but that's where MARTIN LEWIS went on his moped with a camera crew in front of him! I nearly ran across the road and accosted him at the red light but contented myself with grabbing my phone and getting a crap picture instead! That man is my hero *swoons* and he's rather handsome too ;o)

Again, on the way back to London Bridge train station, this is just at the bottom of the road. There were a few lads trying to jump the stairs and of the ten or so attempts i saw they didn't manage it - but their failures were pretty impressive! That's quite a way to jump you know :oD

Just forgetting to blog again!
Right, what's been happening? Well, last week i dashed off to help the neice out with her move into her new flat only to be told she was going out with her friend. Nice. So i did the same and went to the pub with friends, oh, and my Dad came too! It was a great evening, lots of fun was had by all and i do believe i may have been a little bit tipsy *VBG*
Saturday came and Neice and i had another row via phone calls and text messages - the upshot being that nobody ever helps her and she is alone. I wonder why that is. Perhaps it's because when people do help her and make 100 mile round trips to visit her she is unappreciative and then says things like that. I have said "no more" i will not go running down there next time she says she needs me to. If she thinks she is alone, i think it is time to let her see what that actually means. As the old cliche goes - time to stand on your own two feet girl!
So, Saturday afternoon, back home with Bloke for a BBQ in aid of his Sis-in-Law's birthday round their house. It was lovely, the kids were all well behaved, the food was very tasty and the company was very pleasant indeed. The only thing that spoiled it was football on the t.v. in the garden *lol*
Sunday... oh yes! Sunday we went to the Hop Farm at Paddock Wood. It used to be the Whitbread hop farm, i went there when i was 11! I didn't recognise any of it though *lol*
We were there for a VW show, only three of met up for the cruise, the rest of the club made their excuses. We were cruise leaders, mainly because we had the satnav and although the van seems to have a huge dislike for hills or anything remotely sloping in an upwards direction we made it there in good time. The show itself was quite big, lots of "autojumble" and a very nice lady selling her homemade beaded jewellery. I bought myself a spirally bangle with a dangly pendant thing to match it and a black beaded kilt pin to fasten up my cardis and wraps and schtuff like that. I'm going to e-mail her and find out what other shows she will be at as i would like to get "someone" a gift

Then we are on to Monday and that lovely rain, my garden really needed it so i am always grateful for rain in the summer. Mind you, it was sunny for a week, surely that's our summer over?
