Joined at last

After trying several techniques i settled on the double crochet through the back loops with wrong sides facing method :-)
I like the ridges, i think they define the squares really nicely as does the first section of edging that i've finished since this photo was taken. I'll be adding more rows to the edging in a different shade too.
