Presenting...

ONE FINISHED SOCKIE!! YIPPEEEEEEEE!!

I finished Hedera #1 about 30 minutes ago and i feel SO proud!

I made a sock! A WHOLE sock! I've tidied the ends away and everything!
You know the best part? It FITS! PERFECTLY! *Doing a happy dance*
OK, it's a one-footed-hopping-stylee dance but who cares, i made a whole sock with a lace pattern no less. All i gotta do now is not get sidetracked and go start it's partner as soon as possible or else it'll end up like that jumper that i knitted and is now languishing in a bag cos i am too scared to sew it together in case it doesn't fit! Oh, who am i kidding, it's not going to fit anyway, i may as well get it over with. I shall sew it up before i start Hedera #2 tomorrow.
Promise

I thought the foot part of the sock would be boring but having that lace pattern kept things moving along quite nicely, and it was so easy to remember too, which is always a bonus with my 5-second memory *LOL* I hope there will be many more socks knit in future, i have yarn for at least another two pairs at the moment and plenty of patterns ear-marked as "want to make" and i am definitely doing the MapleLeaf KAL, i just have to find the "right" yarn to do them in. I am toying with the idea of having the leaf row in a solid colour and the rest in a variegated, and i've found the Regia Canadian colours on eBay. I really like the colours in Edmonton #4728, Calgary #4729, Ontario #4736 and Manitoba #4737, well actually i really like all of the colours but i can't have them all... or can i?

The Regia Canadian colours series is beautiful. I have the Quebec and Vancouver hues and I can't wait to start knitting them.

Congratulations on your first sock! It's lovely. Welcome to the addictive world of sock knitting!

Congratulations. You have finished your FIRST sock, it's gorgeous, but most important of all, it's a PERFECT FIT! What more could any sock-knitter ask for? Good for you!!!
